“Fifty years to make the clown…
Fifty years to play the clown”

An autobiography, a meditation and a chronicle of the 20th century by a circus clown approaching his 100th birthday. In the deserted anteroom of the Big Top, Scaramouche Jones plays out his final act.
Both a terrifying and hilarious tale, an extraordinary confrontation between unimaginable evil and the healing spirit of comedy.

Born in Port o’ Spain as the clock struck twelve one hundred years ago on 31st December 1899, his story unfolds and we are led through a rugged landscape of impossible emotion and pivotal historical moments throughout his travels. Driven by the belief that his father was indeed an Englishman, Scaramouche is constantly saved by the radiant whiteness of his face.

Join an Everyman on a bumpy odyssey through the century.
