Come and join this exciting Irish folk group, in the season of
St Patrick, for a great evening of music, dance and fun.
The late John Doonan formed the DFB some 30 years ago with sons
Mick and Kevin. They quickly established themselves on the musical
circuit with a full repertoire of Irish tunes, the majority passed
down from John’s father, himself a renowned fiddler. They
were soon joined by additional musicians as well as Irish dancers
whose contribution added another dimension to the band’s music.
Their wide range of instruments (piccolo, flute, pipes, fiddle,
and guitars) is used to interpret tunes from a variety of musical
genres including the folk tradition.
A real family band, their secret weapon is the ability to communicate
and engage with any audience anywhere. Their shows can be unpredictable
but are always uncompromisingly entertaining.
