Berwick Educational Association Workshops: Abstraction and Mark Making from the Landscape: experiments in composition and mixed media

Tickets: £25
Venue: YHA Berwick, Dewars Lane
Running Time: 5h
Berwick Educational Association are hosting a series of six practical art workshops inspired by the works of women artists in Berwick Visual Arts Spirited exhibition on display at the Granary Gallery, giving amateur and professional artists the opportunity to try out some of the techniques used by artists in the Spirited exhibition.

Workshop 6 - Abstraction and Mark Making from the Landscape: experiments in composition and mixed media
Our inspiration will come from the various abstract and landscape works in the exhibition.

The first part of the day will be spent on various sketches outdoors. Back in the studio we will take those sketches and put together an abstract piece using the rules of composition. There will be a variety of ways of making different marks and textures to hand.

Bring sketching materials and good paper. In case of bad weather bring landscape sketches/photographs.

2. Propaganda of Print: a reductive lino printing workshop - 21 June
