The Place presents EDge 2014 - A New Generation of Dance Artists

The London Contemporary Dance School is a leading dance conservatoire, training dance artists of the highest artistic quality and technical standard. EDge, the school’s postgraduate performance company, returns to Berwick for the fourth consecutive year with another breath-taking tour.

With moments of dramatic suspense, tenderness and frantic energy, EDge’s 12 exceptional dancers perform a collection of work at The Maltings this Spring that’s both playful and dramatic.

Accompanied by electronic and operatic sound scores, sweeping lifts, precise gestures and complex floor patterns combine in this evening of narrative and abstract dance by a selection of internationally renowned choreographers.

The diverse programme features work by Yael Flexer, Idan Cohen, Maya Levy, legendary dance-maker Trisha Brown, alongside works created specifically for the company by Joe Moran (UK) and Ben Wright (UK).

This collection of work from leading and up-and-coming dancemakers, performed by some of the most talented dancers from around the world, gives you the opportunity to watch a new generation of dance artists.

EDge, the postgraduate performance company of London Contemporary Dance School is now in its 14th year.
