HELP THE MALTINGS SURVIVE

We are currently closed until it is safe to reopen our doors again. Despite cutting our costs right back, we are aware that we need to make some big changes to be in line with new social distancing measures. Currently we do not know when we will be able to open our doors and this has had a great financial impact on us. There will be a continued financial strain when we can welcome you back as there will inevitably be a capacity limit for venues like ours.

Your generosity at this time is greatly appreciated by the whole team.

A NOTE TO ALL CUSTOMERS: If you have booked for an event which has unfortunatley been cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic, the full amount of your purchase will be credited to your Maltings account which you will be able to use for future purposes. This credit will not expire.

BERWICK VISUAL ARTS

Berwick Visual Arts are delighted to announce the launch of The Glasgow Boys and Girls, a virtual exhibition curated by The Fleming Collection and hosted by Art UK which can be viewed HERE.

The Glasgow Boys and Girls were a group of radical young artists, most of whom came from Glasgow or thereabouts, who rebelled against the jaded Victorian passion for highland scenes and story-telling pictures. They sprang to prominence in the 1880s as documentary painters of rural life in all its harsh reality.

The virtual display is a forerunner to the exhibition The Glasgow Boys and Girls which would have opened at the Granary Gallery this month, however they still plan to stage the exhibition later this year, with more details announced as soon as we can.

For more information visit the Berwick Visual Arts website HERE.

CORONA VIRUS UPDATE

Following Government advice since the start of the Corona Virus outbreak, we decided to close The Maltings’ Eastern Lane site to the public (including the Maltings Café Bar) on Saturday 21 March, to play our part in stopping the spread of the virus. The Gymnasium Gallery and The Granary Gallery will also be closed. We want our staff, customers and artists to stay well and healthy. We are continuing to follow the Government Advice and will remain closed until further notice.

We’re working hard behind the scenes to reschedule events, wherever possible. Box Office will be in touch with ticketholders over the next few days. Thanks to everyone who’s sent us messages of support at what’s a difficult time for us all. We look forward to welcoming you back to The Maltings as soon as we can.

We’ll be monitoring the situation closely and giving updates via our website and Facebook.

If you have any queries, please feel free to contact us at boxoffice@maltingsberwick.co.uk.

Best wishes,
