Maltings is offering a professional development opportunity to artists (all artforms) based in Berwick and North Northumberland.

This training is funded by Culture Bridge North East and will be led by Starcatchers, the highly regarded Early Years arts agency, and is specifically designed to support local artists who are interested in developing their practice to include working in early years settings.

Maltings is a hub for culture delivered across three venues in Berwick-upon-Tweed. Our main theatre venue offers a year-round programme of theatre, dance, music, comedy, films & event broadcasts, classes, and family friendly events. Our visual arts programme (previously known as Berwick Visual Arts) provides regular opportunities to experience exceptional, ambitious visual art through a curated programme of exhibitions across two galleries in the town alongside artists residencies, schools’ activities, events and projects.

In Spring 2022 local artists are invited to join in an Early Years development programme with Starcatchers hosted at The Maltings. This follows-on from the Starcatchers’ Mixed Up programme which was delivered in 8 First Schools in Berwick and North Northumberland during Autumn 2021.
