The Maltings Theatre’s 25th Birthday Celebrations

A Northumbrian Kist

Come and celebrate our 25th birthday with us!

Join us for a very special orchestral concert to celebrate our landmark birthday - an enchanting afternoon mix of classical treats and familiar Northumbrian traditional music for all the family, performed in the fabulous acoustic of Berwick Guildhall.

The programme includes some of the most gorgeous music ever written for string orchestra - Greig’s Holberg Suite and Holst’s St Paul’s Suite - as well as fabulous new settings of familiar Northumbrian songs Bonny at Morn, Whittingham Fair, and Blow the Wind Southerly, featuring singers Tamsin Davidson and Alan Rowland.

Our birthday celebration also includes a new orchestral work showcasing Sam Lord on Bass Clarinet (An a Craw can Sing Anaw), Arreglos Bolivianos by celebrated Northumberland-based Bolivian-born composer, Agustin Fernandez, and  Joseph Knight (aria from Flyting)  by The Maltings’ Artistic Director, Matthew Rooke.
