Scotland's foremost youth jazz ensemble, NYOS Jazz Orchestra, welcome world-acclaimed saxophonist and composer Iain Ballamy for their 2015 season. A key member of the band Loose Tubes in the 80s, Ballamy has enjoyed a diverse and stellar rise to be amongst the world's finest creative musicians.   He has performed with an extraordinarily diverse array of musicians, including Gil Evans, Hermeto Pascoal and Carla Bley. A prolific composer, his output transcends genre and instrumentation, and has fuelled many releases in his own name and also in the band he co-leads, FOOD, who are signed to ECM records.
