UPDATE 27 March: Nick Pope has announced that he will be using his appearance at The Maltings Theatre on 3 April as an opportunity to formally call on the government to launch a full public inquiry into near-misses between UFOs and commercial aircraft. For full details click HERE.
Come and hear about the real-life X-Files!
Author, journalist and TV personality Nick Pope, who used to investigate UFOs for the Ministry of Defence, is recognised as one of the world's leading experts on UFOs, the unexplained and conspiracy theories. Now he will make a one-off public appearance in the UK, right here in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
This one-off lecture provides a rare opportunity for the UK public to come and meet the man who is more qualified than most to answer the question, “Are we alone out there?”. The audience will have a chance to share their own thoughts and experiences on the subject, and to ask their questions.
His lecture will include information on:
• The recently-completed release of the MoD’s UFO files;
• Britain’s best-known UFO sighting, the Rendlesham Forest incident;
• The most bizarre and mysterious cases in the MoD’s UFO files;
• The recent spate of near-misses between UFOs and aircraft;
• The truth about the various UFO cover-up and conspiracy theories;
• The scientific search for extraterrestrial life;
• Insights into what the government response would be if we find alien life.
Nick Pope was employed with the Ministry of Defence for 21 years. While there, he investigated UFOs, alien abductions, crop circles and other strange phenomena. He has also been involved in the declassification of the UFO files and releasing them to the National Archives.
More recently, Nick has been the public face of the five-year program to declassify and release the MoD's UFO files, and has been interviewed about this on TV shows including Newsnight, Good Morning America, Larry King Live, Blue Peter and the main BBC and ITV news bulletins, as well as giving a talk about it at the Royal Albert Hall.
Having moved to America in January 2012, Nick has only returned to the UK on two occasions for TV recording commitments, so do not miss the opportunity to join him for a truly out-of-this-world evening!
