Maltings Cinema at Berwick Barracks is open 45 minutes before the start of an event

Our Maltings Eastern Lane venue is now closed for a multi-million-pound redevelopment and is due to reopen by the end of 2027. This transformational building project is funded by the Borderlands Regional Growth Deal and Northumberland County Council.

To get to the Granary Gallery from The Maltings, follow Eastern Lane down the side of the building which will take you to Bridge Street. Turn left until you get to Dewar’s Lane then you can enter the YHA from the car park – the gallery is located on the 2nd floor. The gallery can also be accessed directly through an entrance on the Walls.

CAR PARK:
A public car park with 78 spaces is available a short walk from the cinema on Parade. Please note there’s a 3-hour time limit,
and you must display a parking disc.

PLEASE NOTE:
The Ravensdowne entrance is exclusively for accessible parking
and drop-off, intended for visitors with additional access requirements.
All other ticketholders must use the main Barracks entrance
as a condition of our use of the venue.

By Train

Berwick-upon-Tweed station is on the main East Coast line with frequent services between Edinburgh and Newcastle.

By Bus

Local services from across North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders stop in Berwick. Nearest bus stops are Golden Square and Chapel Street.

By Car

Follow signs on the A1 to Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Bridge Street car park is located next to the Granary Gallery which has 50 spaces and a time limit of 2 hours. Parking discs must also be displayed here.
