The Maltings Café Bar will be closing on Saturday 31 May when the Eastern Lane venue closes for its transformational redevelopment.

Over many years, it’s built a reputation for consistently high standards of food and service. It’s been an asset to The Maltings and to the town. The team have earned a loyal following and will be greatly missed.

The decision to close was not made lightly. We’re sorry to disappoint our many regular customers and to lose the outstanding Café team. But we can promise that when the new building opens it will have an even better café space, with unrivalled views.

In the meantime, we know our Café customers will want to join us in thanking the team for all they’ve achieved together over so many years.

The Café Bar will be open during normal hours until the end of May however, from Wednesday 28 May we won’t be taking reservations to allow as many of customers old and new to visit before we close.

While the menu will shrink as we run down stocks and throughout our final days, we will be offering an informal menu of our delicious homemade scones, traybakes and breakfast rolls, and the welcome will be as warm and friendly as ever.
