Ross Milligan's Introduction to Guitar workshop

This session will act as an introduction to guitar for beginners or for those who have been playing for a short time and will cover melodic playing, chords, rhythm playing and other basic techniques to help on the way to becoming a better guitarist. Please be sure to bring your own equipment as guitars will not be provided.

Bring your guitar to the Henry Travers Studio by 10:45am to get it tuned before the session begins.

As an in demand freelance guitarist Ross has worked with artists as diverse as trip hop artist Tricky, Horse, Pee Wee Ellis, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Emily Smith, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Sir George Martin, The RSNO, The Scottish Guitar Quartet the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and many west end and touring shows.

As a composer he recently composed the music for New York based film 'Butterflies of Bill Baker' and had music featured in many TV shows including Eastbound and Down (HBO), Raising Hope (Fox Network), Disappeared, Houstons Remember Whitney, Nate Berkus Show, Next Big Thing NY, Hillbilly Blood, High School Confidential, What not to Wear, National Geographic channel, Food Network and many more.

In addition to a busy rota of private pupils, Ross also teaches guitar in Scottish Borders Schools and has led many workshops around the UK.

This second session is aimed at players who have some playing experience, can play a few chords and songs but who may be looking to take their playing forward to the next level.
