To end our 13th Festival in style, Louis de Bernières will be talking about the writer’s life, and reading from his poetry, his last novel, Light Over Liskeard, and his new memoir Smelling of Rooks.

Louis is an English author, well known for his novels including Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, Birds Without Wings and So Much Life Left Over. He is also a music lover and plays several instruments. Louis believes that everything he knows about poetry can and should be made use of in his songwriting, and not surprisingly many of his songs are stories.
