The Sci-Fi Scriptorium

30 Hide Hill, TD15 1AB  |  2 August - 16 August

The Sci-fi Scriptorium is a space for writing and imagining the future of Berwick, hosting workshops and inviting the public in to explore speculative forms of writing influenced by the heritage and surroundings of the town. The project is inspired by the Lindisfarne Scriptorium and will consider what such a space could be today and in the future.

Drop in to the space during opening hours and contribute with writing, collage or just stay and read for a while.

There is no step-free access to this venue.  Please contact us at berwickshines@maltingsberwick.co.uk so that we can address specific accessibility needs.

Following her training in Printmaking and Public Art, Caroline Jupp has focused on DIY publishing, often using out-of-print books, cult novels and films as inspiration for her many participatory projects. Texts and publications are gathered together to create new archives or libraries, such as her major collaborative project with Sam Brown, Library of Unwritten Books, inspired by Beat writer, Richard Brautigan, which involved over 800 interviews with people about the book they would like to write. Jupp currently lives and works in London. Alongside her studio practice, she is also a school librarian and a film programmer for a community cinema.
