Welcome

If you’re looking for a great day or night out in the company of friends and family, then you’ve come to the right place.

This Autumn/Winter season, we’re excited to share all the events we have in store for you at The Maltings and Granary Gallery, your home-from- home for great live theatre and music, exhibitions and the latest cinema releases!

Our dance and theatre programme aims to entertain audiences of every age, making them experiences to savour: Crown Ballet with their UK premier of Swan Lake, Dyad Productions’ dramatisation of Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own and Anthony Lo Giudice presenting his semi-biographical Roma. For families and younger audiences, there’s Julia Donaldson’s The Smartest Giant in Town and Guy Masterson’s acclaimed performance of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

And what better way to celebrate the festive season this December than a trip to see our very own Maltings Pantomime, Ali Baba and the Four Tea Thieves?

If you’re a music fan, then you’re in for a treat when you browse through our must-see live music diary that includes the beautiful recitals of RoyalNorthern Sinfonia, Michael English and his Celebration tour, the ‘buddy brilliant’ Buddy Holly and the Cricketers, and an incredibly special upcloseand personal evening in the company of Marti Pellow.

Our nationally acclaimed visual arts programme continues with Truth and Beauty celebrating the remarkable life of the British art patron and collector, Helen Sutherland and the importance of her early patronage of artists such as Ben Nicholson, Winifred Nicholson, and David Jones.

Our Autumn/Winter exhibition features the original works of talented botanical artist, Margaret Rebecca Dickinson, a once resident of Norham, and prolific painter of the wild and cultivated flowers of the Border Counties.

Coming directly from Covent Garden and London’s West End, our event broadcasts bring world-class productions from the National Theatre, Royal Ballet and Royal Opera house right to our doorstep … and our ever-popular cinema programme means you don’t have to travel far to see the latest releases such as Bullet Train and Don’t Worry Darling!

Details of the season are now available online here on our website, or you can download a digital version of the brochure by clicking here.

With such a wonderful variety of ways to spend your time with us, please choose The Maltings as your destination to experience great entertainment and the warmest of welcomes this September and into the festive season!

We look forward to seeing you soon.
