The Maltings at Eastern Lane is currently closed as it undergoes a major redevelopment, with the transformed venue due to reopen in 2028.

This multi-million-pound project will create a new home for The Maltings’ performance and cultural programme, designed to support artists, audiences and communities for generations to come. The redevelopment represents a significant moment for Berwick, strengthening the town’s cultural life and creating new opportunities to experience theatre, music, film and creative activity together.

The project is funded through the Borderlands Regional Growth Deal and Northumberland County Council, reflecting a shared investment in the future of culture and creativity in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
