Berwick Film Society: I’m Your Man (15)

Main House Theatre  |  26 January 2022

Ended

Developed from a short story placed firmly at the lighter end of Artificial Intelligence.

Scientist Alma is persuaded to take part in an unusual experiment, motivated by the reward of funding towards her research studies. The trial involves her spending three weeks living with a humanoid robot who is programmed to behave and respond like her ideal partner. The answer to a prayer – or an irritating intrusion?

This smart, Berlin-set film is playfully romantic yet yields unexpected depths, touching on issues of loneliness versus independence and topicality as A.I. escalates rapidly in our ever-changing world.

Language: German with English subtitles
