Javier Bardem adopts a convincingly raffish veneer in this sardonic comedy-drama.

Before being awarded an illustrious accolade, a factory producing industrial scales will be inspected by the judges and slick boss Blanco (Bardem) must ensure everything looks its shiny best.

But his persona of the caring, paternalistic employer belies a ruthless self-interest and he is being rumbled by certain employees. Triggered by his own misdemeanours, two situations arise which threaten to sabotage the reputation not only of the company, but of the big boss himself.
