Immerse yourself in this mysterious and mystical romance!

Historian and lecturer Undine, on the rebound after being abandoned by her lover, plunges into a new relationship with an industrial diver, though she remains haunted by her lost love and a desire for retribution.

Playing with an old German legend about the water nymph who gains a human soul once she is loved by a human, this aqueous tale, blending reality with myth, invites the audience to suspend plausibility and go with an intriguing flow of metaphorical undercurrents.

Germany 2020. 1hr 31m. Dir: Christian Petzold. Cast: Paula Beer, Franz Rogowski. Language: German with English subtitles. Awards: 10 wins, 27 nominations.
