Martins the Printers is an independent family owned book printers with a history dating back to 1892. It has operated from Berwick-upon-Tweed since this time. In the beginning, Martins was a general commercial printer with its own local newspaper The Mercury which was produced until 1945.

In the 1950’s the company started to concentrate on its book publishing connections and has remained dedicated to book printing ever since. Most of its turnover comes from major International Publishers, with whom, it has close working partnerships based on successful trading together.

Today, Martins is one of the few remaining book printers and binders left in the UK, and is an integral part of the community of Berwick and the surrounding communities.
