Inspired by Cath Campbell’s research with the archives of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers and the kinds of hand-made objects soldiers created on the front line, this four-session men’s sewing group uses simple embroidery and hand-sewing as a practical, calming craft.  

We’ll explore stitching as a steadying, practical skill alongside making something unique to keep.

What we’ll do
Learn a few beginner-friendly stitches and build confidence fast
Take inspiration from soldiers’ handmade items from the KOSB archives
Complete a small artwork, made across four sessions, to keep.
