(We Are) Such Stuff: Good Day Sunshine

Henry Travers Studio  |  2 – 3 June 2022

Eleanor Rigby – Imagine a teenage girl growing up in Liverpool in the 1960s; carefree days spent at Penny Lane Market, evenings dancing to Beatles music in the Cavern but, in the background is an ambitious mother who wants the best for her.

It was a time before instant communication or social media, instead writing letters, telephone boxes and travelling on buses were the norm.

Along comes a young man into her life and everything changes. This is a Romeo and Juliet story told against a backdrop of contemporary music. If you love all things ’60s, especially the music, then wallow in the nostalgia of the era.

This is a new work, conceived and written by Lydia Lee of Such Stuff productions in 2019 but like most things was brought abruptly to a halt in 2020. But now a talented cast brings the story to fruition with music from an onstage live band.
